6 Picks for Baby (and Mom)

As a locally handmade brand that’s been around for nearly two decades, Faerhaven is a gifting go-to for many folks in Windsor-Essex, for occasions from birthdays to housewarmings, and for loved ones from gardeners to outdoor adventurers.

One occasion we get asked about a lot is the arrival of a new addition to the family. While none of Faerhaven’s products say the word “baby” on them, many of their creations are excellent picks for little ones and their moms.

Here are the six Faerhaven products we recommend most often:

Pure Cherub Soap

Made from 100% pure saponified olive oil and nothing else, Pure Cherub Soap is dermatologist-recommended for the most sensitive skin, and is gentle enough to wash baby from head to toe.

Sister soap to Pure Cherub, Calm Cherub is made from the same olive oil base, with a touch of lavender essential oil added for its calming properties. It’s a great choice for bedtime, and will help to soothe mom’s frayed nerves too.

Shea butter is richly moisturizing, soothing to the skin, and naturally rich in Vitamin E. Not only is it perfect for protecting the delicate skin of a newborn, it can be used even before baby arrives, to soothe itchiness and soften stretch marks.

Straight shea butter is very hard and somewhat difficult to apply. Faerhaven sources this shea directly from a women’s cooperative in Ghana and whips it to give it an airier texture, making application a breeze.

Bumble Butter will be mom’s go-to for diaper rash, cuts, scrapes, and more. Keep it on hand to help soothe all of life’s “bumbles.”

Use Non-Petroleum Jelly the same way you would petroleum jelly. It makes an excellent barrier cream and is a perfect choice for hydrating delicate areas such as the umbilical cord, or skin affected by cradle cap.

Brilliant for removing a wide range of stains from red wine to grass to blood, the Laundry Stain Stick also works for baby-related stains and is safe to use on cloth diapers, blankets, clothing, and more.
