Fresh, whole foods unquestionably benefit your body from the inside, but did you know they can also have positive effects on your skin from the outside? Look no further than your refrigerator for skin-friendly antioxidants, gentle acids, Vitamin C, and more. This week, I scanned the web for five simple and fresh fruit- and veggie-licious smoothies for your skin. Give them a try, or devise your own custom blend!
1. Smoothie Face Mask from Michelle Phan
Inspired by a trip to Thailand, Michelle Phan developed this simple skin smoothie to help brighten dull skin. The tropical scent has the extra benefit of helping to lift your mood. Perfect for rainy April days.
2. Homemade Chocolate Facial from Tidy Mom
Nothing smells and feels more luxurious than chocolate. This hydrating face mask boasts antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties. If coconut oil doesn’t agree with your skin, try substituting olive or avocado oil (adjust the quantity to get the desired consistency).
3. Acne-Fighting Blueberry Face Mask from Vegan Beauty Review
Say bye-bye to breakouts with this yummy berry mask. Don’t worry, it won’t turn your face blue, but it will stain clothes, so be careful.
4. Feed Your Face Mask from Wholeheartedly Healthy
This smoothie doubles as a mask and a warm smoothie. Sounds to me like a cozy way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
5. Superfood Green Smoothie Face & Body Mask from Little Green Dot
I’m keeping this one in my back pocket for warmer weather. Cooling, toning, and tightening, this concoction would feel amazing after a day at the beach.
